Arend, Chair UvASociaal
As chair of UvASociaal I focus on the strategic development of the party. I did my bachelor’s in psychology at FMG, and am currently doing my master’s in Business Administration at the FEB. At both these faculties I saw room for change, and it is my goal to improve the visibility of both the party and the student council system amongst students in order for democratic change to happen. Most things I do is with the intention of directly or indirectly causing a positive societal impact. Yet I also do things for fun. I love going to the movies, going to concerts and other events, and playing the piano.
Jerry, Vice Chair UvASociaal
I’m a second year international student doing my bachelor’s in economics and business economics. Being the vice-chair of Uvasociaal, I manage the internal workings of the party, it also gives me the freedom to do the kind of projects that interest me. I stand for equality, equity and sustainability and I believe that to make the world a more inclusive place would be a good first step in the right direction. For fun, I like to travel and meet new people from around the world.
Anita, Treasurer UvASociaal
Hey! I’m the treasurer of UvaSociaal. Let’s get to know each other a bit closer. I’m currently doing my bachelor in Business Economics with a specialization in Accounting. You might think that the only thing that I’m interested in is money, but that’s not true (at least not fully true). I’m also really into politics, psychology, reading and in meantime I write poems and do Pilates. I see UvaSociaal as a special platform for everyone who wants to be heard at the University of Amsterdam. We unite students with the administration of UvA, we unite different kinds of thoughts and worldview, and we simply unite people. Join UvaSociaal because it’s time to speak and be heard!
Sat, Secretary UvASociaal
As a board member of UvASociaal I would like to contribute towards making UvA more sustainable and more affinité to internationals as well as support the other two pillars of UvASociaal, accessibility and education. I wish to make the world a better place to live in for everyone and I believe that Universities are the haven for knowledge, therefore, the perfect place to start. I am motivated in subjects such as sustainability and diversity/internationalization.
